Bromley BR1 & BR2 · Garden paths
Side passages and garden paths, rebuilt properly.
As local paving contractors, we lay garden paths and side passages across Bromley, often replacing cracked concrete or old crazy paving. In Hayes, two miles from Bromley town centre, we broke out the old crazy paving path along Doni's house and relaid it in grey Indian sandstone, with before and after photos below.

Your garden, considered
Many Bromley semis and detached houses have a side passage that carries bins, bikes and everyone going to the garden, and it is often the most neglected surface on the property. In Hayes we dug out Doni's old concrete and crazy paving, laid a new base and ran grey Indian sandstone in 4 sizes down the side and across the back, all in 4 days.
Side passages need their own care: a fall away from the house walls, gullies and airbricks left clear, and a surface that stays grippy in the shade. Back-garden paths are about the route, to a shed, a seating area or round a lawn, with edging that keeps gravel and soil apart.
On bigger jobs we design paths in from the start, as with the curved paved path beside the new lawn in Harshad's garden in Orpington.

Materials & possibilities
Side passages and garden paths have different jobs to do, so we often use different materials for each.
A side path must slope gently away from the house so rain does not soak the walls, and it must stay below the damp-proof course with airbricks left clear. We find the existing gullies and manholes, set the levels around them and make sure water has somewhere to go before the paving goes down.
From first ideas to finishing touches
Levels, gullies, airbricks and access checked.
Break-out, base, paving and waste removal, itemised.
Remove the old surface, lay the base, pave the path.
Point or fill the joints, clean and check the falls.
