Two gardens as one project
Around 30m² for Caroline and 23m² for Jo, 53m² in total, all supplied and installed together.
Case study · Kew TW9 · March 2024
Neighbours Caroline and Jo in Kew had both their back gardens redone together. We took out the old paving, put in a new base and laid 53m² of Kandla grey Indian sandstone in a project pack: around 30m² for Caroline and 23m² for Jo. New eco drains connect to the gully, and six new closeboard fence panels went up on wooden posts. Ten days, £13,000 including VAT for both.
Where we started
Caroline and Jo live next door to each other in Kew, and both wanted the old paving in their back gardens replaced. The two gardens were done as one project.
Using the same stone on both sides gives the two gardens a matching finish, with a new fence running between them. It is a good example of the patios in Richmond and fencing in Richmond work we do in the area.
The tricky parts
Step by step
The old paving was removed and a new base was laid and compacted.
The backs of the slabs were primed and the Kandla grey project pack was laid across both gardens.
Eco drains were connected to the gully, and six closeboard panels went up on wooden posts.
The finished work
Budget
This project cost £13,000 including VAT for both gardens, all in: removing the old paving, a new base, 53m² of Kandla grey sandstone, eco drains connected to the gully and six closeboard fence panels on wooden posts, over ten days. That is roughly £245 per m² including the drains and fencing. See our patios in Richmond page for more.
