Case study · Balham SW12 · March 2024

Black limestone front garden and new fence in Balham

Emmanuel's house in Balham had work at both ends. At the front, we fully dug out the garden, put in a new base and laid around 15m² of black limestone in 60x90 slabs. At the back, around nine new fence panels went up on concrete posts with concrete gravel boards. £6,000 including VAT: £2,500 for the paving and £3,500 for the fence.

Where we started

The brief

Emmanuel needed two jobs done at the same house in Balham: new paving at the front and a new fence at the back.

Pricing them separately makes it easy to see where the money went: £2,500 for the front paving and £3,500 for the fence. It is a good example of the front gardens in Balham and fencing in Balham we take on.

The tricky parts

What went into it

01

A full dig-out at the front

The front garden was fully dug out so the new paving could go down on a new base.

02

Around 15m² of black limestone

Black limestone in 60x90 slabs was supplied and laid across the front garden.

03

Around nine fence panels at the back

New panels were installed along the back garden boundary.

04

Concrete posts and gravel boards

The panels sit on concrete posts with concrete gravel boards along the bottom.
