Where we started

The brief

Stephanie wanted the whole garden rebuilt: a new fence down the right-hand side, a concrete base, new paving at the top and bottom, the walls re-rendered, a footpath around a new lawn, proper flower beds and new steps.

It is one of our larger garden rebuilds, and a good example of the fencing in Wimbledon and garden walls in Wimbledon work we do around Wimbledon Park.

The tricky parts

What went into it

01

30m of slatted fence

The old fence panels came out along the whole right-hand side. New concrete posts went in every 1.5 metres, set in concrete, with new 6ft slatted panels between them, 30 metres in all.

02

A concrete base

A new 2m x 3m concrete base was supplied and installed.

03

Natural stone at both ends

60x90 natural stone slabs were laid on 2 sections, one at the very bottom of the garden and one at the top.

04

Walls and coping

All of the walls were re-rendered and coping stones were fitted.

05

Footpath and lawn

A paving footpath runs around the walls, with a lawn in the middle.

06

Flower beds

Flower beds were created on both sides. Everything in them was cleared out, then new soil and topsoil went in and it was all levelled.

07

Steps

2 new steps were built, and paving and coping stones were fitted on top of the steps.
