A full transformation
Rather than patching the old garden, everything was cleared so the new layout could be planned from scratch, with the paving, planting and fence all working together.
Case study · Lewisham SE13 · June 2026
Alice's narrow back garden in Lewisham was fully transformed in seven days. The old garden was cleared and replaced with beige 60 × 90cm porcelain paving running fence to fence from the back doors, with raised wooden sleeper beds along the side and around the tree at the end. We also replaced a wooden fence post. £7,000 including VAT.
Where we started
Alice's garden in Lewisham is a long, narrow plot behind a terraced house, with glazed doors opening straight onto it and a tree at the far end. The old garden was a mix of timber, soil and plants that made the space feel smaller than it is.
Alice wanted the whole garden transformed into one clean, usable space: paving running from the doors to the back fence, and somewhere to plant without losing floor space. It is a good example of the patios in Lewisham and garden design in Lewisham we take on.
Before & after
The tricky parts
Step by step
The old garden was cleared to make way for the new layout.
Raised beds were built from wooden sleepers along the side of the garden and around the tree at the end.
The beige 60 × 90cm porcelain was laid from the back doors to the end of the garden, fence to fence.
A wooden fence post was replaced, and the garden was cleaned down for handover.
